Professional Development & Technical Assistance

A variety of professional development opportunities are available for Directors, Teachers and Aides in early learning and school-age care and education. Workshop topics include growth and child development, pediatric first aid, behavior management, curriculum activities and program management. CSC connects child care providers with opportunities for financial assistance for professional development, including tuition reimbursement, vouchers, and loan forgiveness programs. The components of the professional development system include:

Technical Assistance

STARS Technical Assistance is specialized consultation services available to support the programs in the Keystone STARS quality improvement program who are working to achieve higher STAR levels. This on-site consultation for facilities is aimed at helping them achieve specific Keystone STARS Performance Standards. Health and Safety consultation is also available to programs on particular subjects such as establishing practices, maintaining a healthy program or assisting with writing policies. A Health Consultant is available to conduct an on-site health and safety assessment.
