Community Services for Children leads Early Learning Resource Centers (ELRCs) in 17 Pennsylvania counties: Bradford, Columbia, Luzerne, Montour, Sullivan, Wyoming, Carbon, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Wayne, Susquehanna, Berks, Schuylkill, Lehigh, Northampton and Bucks. ELRCs are designed as integrated system of supports that help families access quality early education and child care programs and other critical services, such as child care subsidy. Early Childhood Institute

In addition to training offered through the Early Learning Resource Centers, we provide national-level professional development for Pre-Kindergarten to grade 1 teachers and trainers in such areas as STEM and early literacy through the Early Childhood Institute. Grant assistance from PP&L allowed us to develop a comprehensive STEM training for Pre-K teachers. Check out our events page for upcoming conferences on topics related to early childhood development and education.

Throughout all our programs, we affect the lives of more than 35,000 children and families annually. We routinely collaborate with area school districts, hospitals, Children and Youth departments, colleges and universities, DaVinci Science Center and various social welfare agencies to live out our mission to prepare young children and their families to succeed in learning and in life through innovative, comprehensive, leading-edge services.
