CSC Receives Community Awards

  • Community Services for Children is honored to announce we were named as recipient of the 2021 Collaboration Award during the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Council’s 8th Annual Collaboration Conference, which took place virtually on April 13, 2021. The award was given in recognition of the work being conducted at the Neighborhood Resource Center.
The Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC) aligns with CSC’s vision to foster “engaged communities where every child thrives and every family succeeds.” “As more and more people in downtown Allentown are tapping into the programs at the NRC, we are finding that families really need additional resources based within their own neighborhood,” said Paula Margraf, CEO/President of Community Services for Children.
The Neighborhood Resource Center, which opened in 2020, through support from City Center Allentown, offers child and family-oriented services in collaboration with community partners all in one convenient location. The center has brought together A Healthy Start by Valley Health Partners, the Allentown School District, Head Start/Early Head Start enrollment services, Kindergarten Jumpstart transition services, and the Early Learning Resource Center. We are also pleased to work with other local not for profit agencies such as the Baum School of Art, Allentown Miller Symphony Hall, and The Literacy Center to name a few.
  • Community Services for Children was honored to receive the Air Products Leonard Pool Impact Award, presented virtually on Thursday, April 15, 2021. This recognition came as part of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley 2021 Celebration of Caring Week. The award, presented by Air Products Community Relations, recognizes a local nonprofit organization that demonstrates a commitment to exceptional community leadership and readiness to serve, values that CSC holds dear.
