Early Head Start -- SafeStart for Fragile Families

SafeStart is our center-based Early Head Start program for families in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. This option is a collaboration with Lehigh and Northampton County Children and Youth Departments. Infants and toddlers who have been affected by child abuse, neglect, drugs and alcohol and whose families are low income are eligible.  Teachers care and interact with children in a therapeutic classroom setting. Families are involved in comprehensive case management to support them in gaining greater control of their lives and improving their ability to parent their children. The program is free to families. This year-round program is provided until the child's third birthday.
